Photovoltaic System

What Is a Photovoltaic System?

A photovoltaic (PV) system is a substitute solar energy solution that generates electricity by converting sunlight into direct current (DC) power through solar panels. The DC power is transformed to alternating current (AC) through an inverter to make it possible for it to supply electricity to houses, businesses, or stand-alone systems. PV systems are clean, renewable, and progressively cost-effective alternatives to conventional energy sources.

Main Components

A standard photovoltaic system will have the following components:

  • Solar panels (PV modules): for soaking up the sunlight
  • Inverter: to convert DC to AC power that is usable
  • Rooftop or ground mounting structures: to hold the system in place
  • Cables and connectors: to supply the power
  • Battery storage: as an option for off-grid or back-up use

All of the parts play their roles in ensuring that the system runs efficiently and safely.

Types of Photovoltaic Systems

There are three main types of photovoltaic systems depending on the energy requirements and grid connectivity:

  • Grid-tied systems: Connected to the utility grid; suitable for urban and suburban areas where electricity supply is guaranteed.
  • Off-grid systems: Independent; often seen in remote locations or where access to the grid is unreliable.
  • Hybrid systems: Have solar panels, batteries, and grid access to provide higher energy flexibility and backup power.

Application of PV Systems

PV systems have applications in various situations. They are usually mounted on rooftops in residential uses to reduce energy costs and become less grid-dependent. Commercial and industrial users employ PV systems to keep their operating costs low and help support sustainability programs. Solar systems provide critical power in remote or rural areas for cabins, farms, communications, and water pumping. They are also deployed in mobile or temporary setups, such as disaster relief or building construction solar equipment in containers.

Our Photovoltaic Solutions

LZY Energy provides an extensive range of photovoltaic devices for several applications:

  • Solar kits ranging from 200W to 3000W, with built-in batteries and inverters
  • Solar system solutions in 5kW and 10kW capacities for household and small company use
  • Mobile solar containers with easy transport in remote areas
  • Liquid or air-cooled energy storage systems for utility-scale photovoltaic systems

Each system of ours is highly efficient, easy to install, and long-lasting.

Picking the Right System

Dependence on your daytime energy usage, site installation space, sunlight in your location, and battery backup need determines the correct photovoltaic system. Utility bills are lowest with grid systems, while independence and backup insurance come from off-grid and hybrid systems.

If you are not certain which one will best meet your needs, our specialists can help analyze your situation and recommend a customized solution.
